Microsoft Research's open-source framework for automating data exploration and visualization through Large Language Models.

LIDA streamlines the pipeline from raw data to visual insight by treating charts as executable code. Developed by Victor Dibia at Microsoft, the framework automates four key stages: data summarization, goal generation, visualization execution (using libraries like Altair and Matplotlib), and natural language refinement. It supports multiple LLM providers (including OpenAI and Cohere) to convert CSV or JSON files into production-ready infographics. The system eliminates manual plotting hurdles by allowing users to update visuals through simple conversational commands.
