3D Reconstruction

3D Reconstruction captures the geometry and appearance of real-world objects and scenes, generating a digital 3D model (mesh or point cloud) from 2D input data.

This technology converts multi-view images, video, or sensor data (like LiDAR) into a precise, measurable 3D representation. The process relies on computer vision techniques: Structure-from-Motion (SfM) identifies corresponding feature points across multiple images; Multi-View Stereo (MVS) then generates a dense point cloud. Modern methods, such as Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) or 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), leverage deep learning to create highly photorealistic, continuous volumetric models. Key applications include generating high-fidelity digital twins for industrial simulation, creating immersive content for AR/VR platforms, and providing critical visualization tools for medical imaging and construction progress tracking.
